test... researching routes in need of resuscitation

A very generous donor to TABVaR has offered to contribute a premium toward upgrading of particularly popular or busy routes - or routes that would BECOME particularly popular or busy when fixed up.

We're thinking of such things like replacing a few of the scary anchors at The Back of the Lake (like the 'dog chains' at the top of Aeroflot, or the fixed draw and bleached tat on Colloidal Impact), or setting glue-ins on a few more of the super popular at places like Acephale, or upgrading to Spanish Crabs at anchors on a couple warmups where it would be nice to be able to simply drop in the rope to lower, rather than threading.

We're open to suggestions for objectives, and candidates for approval, as we attempt to give shape and definition to this special project. In other words, what needs fixing, and has needed fixing for a long time?

What's on your wish list? And feel free to pass this question around. We're looking for POPULAR rigs that need maintenance and upgrading.

Hi Dave, A couple suggestions

Hi Dave,
A couple suggestions on the moderate end to get things rolling.
Cougar Canyon:
Agualung:  Could use a new anchor instead of the tree.   Possibly a little lower as well to avoid some of the epic lowers.  Since the Belay stance is sketchy a bolt for the belayer to clip into (much like on slow poke) would be convenient.
Shadow of a Turning/Crybaby:
Replacing a couple older bolts on Shadow of a Turning and possibly adding an anchor /changing the line slightly on Crybaby (to avoid polished the polished bits) would probably have some fans.
Cheers,
Ian
