TABVAR Annual Reports

2017 Summary:

Last year was TABVAR’s 25th year of operation. An amazing $16,388 was raised through donations and fundraising events bringing the total cash amount raised since TABVAR’s inception in 1993 to more than $150,000. (WOW!!)

Extremely generous donations were received from: Mountain Equipment Co-op ($5,000 and also discounts worth almost $4,000 on a bulk purchase of climbing hardware for local route builders and fixers); The Calgary Climbing Centre ($1,000 from each of its three facilities) and $2,500 from longtime supporter Brent Allardyce.

Also notable in 2017 were significant donations from ACC Saskatchewan, The ArtsPlace Canmore and funds raised through a party hosted by ACC Rocky Mountain section. The balance of revenues during 2017 came from numerous donations from individuals.

A total of 101 projects were funded in 2017 comprising 150 pitches of rock climbing (115 new and 35 refurbishments), 4 ice/mixed climbs and several alpine rock anchor upgrades. Most of these rock climbing projects were single-pitch sport climbs but several multi-pitch climbs were also supported.
